2024 02 05 Resilient Teams

16 1________

Building a resilient team means fortifying your colleagues with the tools and attitudes that will carry them through a difficult cyber incident. In 1965 Harold Leavitt developed his Diamond Model of dependencies within organizations. He described the relationship between Structure, People, Technology, and Tasks. This is more robust than the commonplace three-sided people/process/technology model since it highlights the interaction of relationships and process over time. Today we’re going to look a bit at the “people” component.
The first order of business is to make sure the people are trained for the exigencies of a crisis: the pressure, the demands, the modification to organizational reporting relationships and normal tasks, and the response time requirements. The second order of business is to plan a path to resuming business as usual operations. A crisis with no end becomes a toxic lifestyle.
Find your way out by relying on trusted colleagues, by practicing healthy and meaningful relationships with colleagues, and ask for help when you need it.
