A comparison by HR Wallingford between TELEMAC-generated global tides, based on gravitational forces versus the available TPXO satellite dataset of measured tides. The simulations shows global tidal ranges for a full rotation of the earth on 13 January 2017. We compared these two approaches to validate the capability of TELEMAC to model tidal ranges and currents. Red indicates the highest and blue the lowest variation in tidal range.
