The Prophet Muhammad ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam once passed through this valley during the Expedition of Tabuk. He stopped his companions from drinking the water or even kneading dough with it. His command was firm: “Do not enter this place unless you are crying. And if you cannot cry, then pass with fear in your hearts.” This powerful moment, preserved in Islamic tradition, is a clear sign that this land is cursed in Islam — one of the most cursed places ever mentioned in Islamic stories.
