This album is a self-published performance by Charles Mingus at the 7th Monterey Jazz Festival.
Although there were still some difficulties in terms of sound quality, the wonderful live performance was passed down posterity.
Mingus has long been fascinated by Duke Ellington's music, playing six medleys here.
