The sex-trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs has begun, nearly eight months after his arrest. Six of Diddy’s seven children arrived at the courthouse holding hands, showing a united front as they listened to day one of the trial. During the opening statement, the prosecution dropped bombshells regarding their main accuser, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. They also allege that Combs used his fame and power to run a criminal enterprise that facilitated his "freak offs," involving paid sex workers. Ventura accused Combs of emotional and physical abuse in a civil lawsuit that was settled in Nov. 2023. Now, she is the main witness in the federal sex trafficking case. Trial attorney and Legal Analyst Misty Marris broke down how Ventura’s pregnancy may impact the trial and explained why the defense is walking a “tight rope.” Ventura’s testimony is expected to last the entire week.
