Some important notes:
1) Make sure to not get off balance when you slip the cross. You only need to move your head enough so that their fist doesn't strike you. It doesn't take much.
2) The closer your shovel-hook lands to 45 degrees, the better.
3) Try to strike as your opponent inhales. His full lungs push his liver slightly downward, moving it outside his rib cage.
