The COUNTIFS function applies criteria to cells across multiple ranges and counts the number of times all criteria are met.

Purpose 

Count cells that match multiple criteria

Return value 

The number of times criteria are met

Syntax 

=COUNTIFS (range1, criteria1, [range2], [criteria2], ...)
The COUNTIFS function is a premade function in Excel, which counts cells in a range based on one or more true or false condition.

It is typed =COUNTIFS:

=COUNTIFS(criteria_range1, criteria1, [criteria_range2, criteria2], ...)
