Mixing With Automation Tips: How To Use Automation When Mixing

Automation may seem kind of mysterious and a bit scary if you’ve never used it before, but it’s a very important mixing tool that can turn a really good mix into a great mix.

Automation is essentially the process of having your recording software automatically perform changes to the mix as the song plays.

It can raise and lower the fader volumes, adjust EQ and other plugins, and can move just about any fader, knob, or switch within your recording software.

Automation is definitely on the more-advanced side of things, but once you become comfortable with using it, it can really improve the vibe of your entire mix.

In this video, my goal is to help you understand the basics of automation so you can start implementing it into your workflow and bring a new life to your mixes.
