Free Will Instead of Arbitrary Predestination #shorts #predestination #FreeWill
There is no place in the Gospel for the Calvinistic and fatalistic 'predestination' misunderstanding of God in His arbitrarily circumventing of man's volition, in appointing some men to 'eternal' life and some men to 'eternal' death. Much confusion has been wrought in New Testament Scriptural doctrine of 'predestination' due to the lack of understanding centered around the word 'eternal'... translated from the Greek word aion or aionious used in conjunction with ‘life’… 'eternal/aionious life.’ In some places, it is meant to mean 'never ending' life, and some places its meaning is ‘age-lasting' life, which is to say from one point in time to another point in time, with the New Testament Millennial Kingdom inheritance doctrine primarily in view. Context will determine the right translation in the Holy Spirit’s intended meaning of either ‘never ending' or ‘age-lasting.’ When reading a Scripture Passage, one must determine which aspect the Greek word is referring to. Whenever the context is determined to be to the redeemed about the Millennial Kingdom inheritance, which has a future beginning and ending point... it is age-lasting … whenever the context relates to 'perpetual'/'never ending,’ it is the 'eternal' aspect that is in view. For example, see 1st John 5:11… "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal (aionios/never-ending/forever and ever) life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” Or like in 2nd Corinthians 4:18 which says, "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (aionios/never ending).
See Mark 10:17 where the rich young ruler asks Jesus… "...what shall I do that I may inherit eternal (aionios) life?” Eternal/never-ending life cannot be the subject matter as eternal/never ending life is not inherited but a gift. So the question by the rich young ruler was with the ‘age-lasting' Earthly (Millennial) Kingdom inheritance in view. To which, extrapolated in the New Testament, means all those with eternal/never-ending life are called 'to a doing' beyond the gift of redemption that they might attain unto resurrection glory and the ‘age-lasting' inheritance of the heavenly Kingdom of Christ.
1st Timothy 6:12… “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal (aionios) life, whereunto thou art also called..." 'Never ending' life cannot be the subject matter as ‘never-ending life is not fought for… but a gift of God. So the exhortation by the Holy Spirit is about the Gospel of grace Calling of glory; in overcoming after redemption unto a 'justification' in worthiness attained at the Judgement Seat of Christ, for resurrection glorification and the ‘age-lasting' heavenly Kingdom with Christ - to which all those with eternal/never-ending life are called to fight for. The foundational meaning of all this is to understand the fullness/completeness of God's 'Salvation Plan,’ which spans across every believer’s living on the Earth from the reception of the Gospel of ‘never-ending life' given at redemption's regeneration of the 'spirit' of man… to the realization of the 'salvation of the soul' through the Gospel of continuing grace provision, to be drawn upon by faith in Christ to further maturing faith in Christ unto worthiness for the First Resurrection in the infilling of soul with the 'glorious life' and the inheritance that follows.
The foundational understanding purpose for which we (the redeemed) presently have 'eternal never-ending life' is to build upon it qualifying character of Christ unto the 'saving of the soul' (1st Peter 1:9) with our greater salvation inheritance in view (Hebrews 1:14b) and as 1st Peter 1:4-5 says, “…an inheritance incorruptible” (an eternal never-ending state to be manifest in the First Resurrection glory infilling of the soul; to be realized by those judged worthies in the Millennial heavenly Kingdom of Christ - Luke 20:35-36 with 1st Corinthians 15), and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the (Gospel of grace unto glory) power of God through faith unto salvation (of the soul) ready to be revealed in the last time” (the Return of Christ)." (See 1st Corinthians 1:18… “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (in the Greek; us who are being saved). The Gospel of grace of Eternal life alone has never ending life, but without First Resurrection glory (and with the threat of further judgement)… whereas the Gospel of grace for eternal glory has never-ending life plus quality of life for overcomers (without further judgement at the Great White Throne), which begins with the Age of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ, and is perpetuated in the New Heavens and New Earth.
