In this video I'm going to show you how to make some vocal chops in FL Studio. We're going to be using all stock FL Studio 20 plugins and free plugins. All the music you hear in this tutorial I made specifically for this video and I didn't spend very much time tweaking or mixing it so just keep in mind you can potentially achieve an even better sound than I did with only stock plugins and free vsts. Just use all the concepts I'm teaching you in the video and feel free to experiment with each one to find what works best for you. Not all of these steps have to be followed in order to get some cool vocal chops, and depending on what you're going for you may want to skip some things I go over in the video.

One thing I didn't mention in the video is that in order to follow along with all the steps of this tutorial you need at least the Signature Edition of FL Studio. However, there's definitely ways to work around not having Newtone and you can just use other pitch correction plugins (you can find some decent free ones).

How to Make Cool Vocal Chops in FL Studio:

Step 1: Record some vocals or find a vocal on YouTube or Splice (preferably royalty free).

Step 2: Load vocal in to Newtone to fix any pitch errors.

Step 3: Load vocal into Slicex and start experimenting with some chops.

Step 4: Come up with a melody and your midi keyboard/controller or in the piano roll in FL Studio.

Step 5: Convert the midi into audio.

Step 6: Add to a free mixer track and start adding FX. I like experimenting with reverb, delay, distortion, ott, and EQ. But feel free to get even more creative and try other stuff as well.

Step 7: Pick a good key and pitch vocals up for a cool chipmunk effect.

Step 8: Bring the vocals back into Newtone and experiment with the formant shift for a unique cool effect.

Step 9: Make sure the melody is exactly how you want it by making various vocal chops unique and experimenting with different pitches.
