Yesterday, the OpenAI Whisper model entered preview in Azure OpenAI service and Azure AI Speech. Whisper is a general-purpose speech recognition model, trained on a large dataset of diverse audio and is also a multitasking model that can perform multilingual speech recognition, speech translation, and language identification. The OpenAI Whisper model offers precise and efficient transcription of human speech in 57 languages. Azure OpenAI Service gives customers advanced language AI with OpenAI GPT-4, GPT-3, Codex, DALL-E, and Whisper models with the security and enterprise promise of Azure. Azure OpenAI co-develops the APIs with OpenAI, ensuring compatibility and a smooth transition from one to the other. With Azure OpenAI, customers get the security capabilities of Microsoft Azure while running the same models as OpenAI. Azure OpenAI offers private networking, regional availability, and responsible AI content filtering.

Also yesterday, the Azure Service Fabric team announced that the 10.0 release of the Service Fabric runtime has completed rolling out to the various Azure regions along with tooling and SDK updates. Azure Service Fabric is a distributed systems platform that makes it easy to package, deploy, and manage scalable and reliable microservices and containers. Service Fabric also addresses the significant challenges in developing and managing cloud native applications.
