Thank You Closed Captioning #phonk #closedcaption
It's not easy being hard of hearing but technology has grown by leaps and bounds since the tech I had in the 80's! Watching TV was a different experience for me than the hearing population, and difficult but they came out with black boxes that hooked up to TV's that was the first mass produced device for closed captioning! It changed my world! Thank you to the inventors of closed captioning! I admit, it was hard to adjust to at first since the words would appear and disappear quickly, but I learned how to read super fast and I believe that it has helped my kids too. I have a son that is a top reader in his 3rd grade glass and he's been reading since he was 4! I wrote the lyrics to this song. People might be wondering how I can hear music. I lost 25% hearing in one ear, 26% hearing in my other. Without my hearing aids I can barely hear anything but when I wear my hearing aids, I can hear a lot more, especially with the new hearing aids that have come out today. I'm "lucky" I can hear music, even play the piano and enjoy music. My heart breaks for those who can't hear at all or even a little bit.
