When Days of Thunder was released in 1990, they didn't sell much merchandise to accompany the film. The Racing Champions released a set of five stock cars, and Hardee's offered die cast toys from Applause in their kids' meals as a promotion. Later, Matchbox would release additional die cast cars, including semi-trailers to match their respective stock cars. My personal favorite of all were the Applause cars from the Hardee's kids' meals. They had a great weight and feel to them, and made excellent toys!
